Description
Sean Chu was elected to his first term as Councillor - Ward 4 on October 21, 2013.
Prior to being elected Sean was a member of the Calgary Police Service. During his 21 years of service Sean worked as a member of the motorcycle Unit, District #1 and the Diversity Resources Team for Community Outreach. Sean received both the Calgary Police Service Distinguished Service Medal and the 20 years Service Medal.
Sean has served as the past director of the Federation of Calgary Communities, sat as a member of both the Wildrose Lion's Club and the Sien Lok Society, served as an advisor to the Calgary Chinese Merchant Association and currently volunteers for various not-for-profit organizations and sits on the Calgary Centre-North constituency board. . His contribution to community initiatives has been recognized with both the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Alberta Centennial Medal.
Sean moved to Calgary in 1985 from Taiwan after providing three years of military service. Upon his arrival in Calgary Sean then attended Mount Royal University. Currently he calls the community of Sandstone home with his two beautiful daughters and sits on the following City of Calgary Standing Policy Committees (SPC) and Special Committees (SC):
