Big 4 Motors has been serving Calgary for over 40 years! Big 4 Motors, or Big 4 Chrysler Dodge Jeep as it was commonly known, was established in 1972 and was Calgary's only Jeep dealership until 1988 when it became Calgary's Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep retail store. In 1995 Big 4 Motors became a proud member of the Wood Automotive group, owned by Gerry Wood.

In the last fifteen years Big 4 Motors has grown to nearly double its staff, and serves community members from across Western Canada. Conveniently located on Macleod Trail, Big 4 Motors is here to meet the needs of its customers.

From the very beginning, Big 4 Motors has been widely recognized for its excellence in customer service. It prides itself on having a small-town mentality in the big city. Big 4 Motors has received the Chrysler President's Club Award three times, granted on the basis of sales volume and customer service. In March of 2000, Big 4 Motors was granted a 5-Star Certification, acknowledging consistency in exceeding customer expectations, and has maintained this standard ever since.

It is now offering an express lane service to add convenience to the customers' experience. No appointment necessary, customers can have an oil change and safety inspection in less than 30 minutes.

Big 4 Motors demonstrates leadership in the community by participating in a number of charitable causes and community investments. They have been a primary contributor to the annual Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic in support of the Calgary Flames Foundation, the annual Flames Alumni Masters Golf Tournament in support of various organizations including the Impact Society, and the annual Woodridge Charity Golf Tournament in support of the PREP Program of Calgary.

Gerry Wood is the principle and founder of Wood Automotive Group. He started his legacy as a pioneer automotive dealer in Calgary's automotive industry in 1983 when he acquired Southridge Lincoln Mercury, and renamed it Woodridge Ford Lincoln.

Approximately 10 years after its acquisition by Gerry Wood, Woodridge Ford Lincoln expanded to form Wood Automotive Group, which now encompasses five automotive dealerships including Big 4 Motors, and a separate All-Makes Collision Centre facility, for auto body repair and maintenance.

His attention to quality has been recognized and awarded at each of the dealerships.

Gerry Wood was named Maclean Magazine's "Dealer of the Year" in 1999, an honour that is reserved for only the very best.
